Day 7 - Universum, Science Center

Heute gingen Rachel und ich nach Universum! Sunday (Sonntag 12.02.12) Rachel and I went to Bremen's science center, Universum! I had the misconception that it was the world's largest science and technology center, but that's in Munich, so it felt underwhelming.  But now that I know, it was a pretty nice place in retrospect! I'll probably visit there when I can! I'll share a few pictures here and talk a little about it. But I will link you to more pictures! Also, Sunday wasn't terribly eventful because it must have taken hours trying to get my protest video to upload because of issues. -.-' I also want to mention that rules on dogs (Hunde) are a lot less stringent. They allow people to walk dogs without leashes and they allow dogs on buses. Although, I only saw well-tamed dogs on the buses so that could be it too. Then again, all the dogs I have seen are very well-trained. Anyways, the story:

It snowed on our way in/ over so naturally, Rachel was happy with that. I was not terribly thrilled with it because it was cold, and my shoes collected snow like crazy.
Here I am all cold and rosy-cheeked with my ticket to the center! Inside the center there were three exhibits, Menschen, Erde und Kosmos. Mannking, Earth, Cosmos/Space. We made it through all of the last two, and decided not to see Menschen because we only had so much time and because it didn't interest us much.

Here are a few pictures with brief descriptions:

Rachel playing with an object that shows strain, a picture of me popping one of those rubber things and a football (soccerball) with a quote saying "Science is like football: both need head, heart, and passion." - Jens Falta, Professor for Physics

A rock that was also luminescent under blacklight, two galaxies colliding (I couldn't show 3-D here), and a picture from the Kosmos section "Dance of the Atom".

Rachel played in sand while I looked at various types of sand from all over the world. Then I decided to play with magnetic material and made a design with it!
