Day 13 - Running around and Zungenbrechers - Say what?

18.02.12 - Saturday

I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep around 9-something, my body clock wouldn't let me. So, after eating some breakfast, I decided to go on a jog around the forest-y area that's not too far from our residence. It was drizzley, spitting some might say, but it wasn't enough to bother me. The trees looked strange to me, so I took a picture. Along my jog, there were other people out in the misting rain, I felt like they were staring at me, then again I was running with an ISU hoody and white leggings under shorts. I also saw a pond that I thought was interesting because it was only partial frozen and the birds were taking advantage of it.

I also realized I forgot to mention on Thursday I went to a Sprachtraining, speech training class, and learned about w's, v's and f's and how their sounds differ in each word. I was also then given Zungenbrecher, Tongue Breakers/ Twisters. Here's a few for you to enjoy. Each is progressively harder. :) W's are generally pronounced like american v's (for you Russians out there, vodka is spelled like wodka for this reason), v's in the beginning of words are pronounced as f's, ei's are pronounced like "eye" and ie's "e", i's like in kiss, er's as in heir.

Wenige wissen, wie viel man wissen muss, um zu wissen, wie wenig man weiss.

Wer nichts weiss und weiss, dass er nichts weiss, weiss mer als der, der nichts weiss und nicht weiss, dass er nichts weiss.

Wir wiener Waescherweiber wollen weisse Waesche waschen, wenn wir wuessten, wo warmes Wasser waere. Warmes Wasser wissin wir, weisse Waesche waschen wir.

Then we decided to go to the Dom tomorrow, and shop today. I'm still thoroughly surprised how wenig we pay for everything. Also, I found this little gem in the Krautsalat.
