119 - The Return!

3.6.12 - Sonntag, Sunday

I called a taxi the night before to pick the two of us up at 7:30 that morning to begin our journey backwards on a train at 8:07! This time around the 3 and a half hours wasn't nearly as bad because I had actually slept the night before and I had Linear Algebra to keep me occupied for a little while.

Finally, we got ourselves back to Paddington and had a little time to kill. After looking up online where the platform 9 and 3/4 really was, it turns out that JK Rowling's memory was slightly wrong and was actually between 3 and 4, but, apparently just a few months before they relocated to some other road that wasn't as easy to get to so we got a little creative.

(Me at King's Cross with the scarf that Cindy bought me from Dublin! - Rachel and I with our bags.)

Then we made our trip back toward Liverpool, where we went a different direction  for food this time. We wandered around and settled upon a place called Wrap It Up!, where I bought an Indian Tandoori Tikka wrap with extra spice. That might have been a poor choice because my taste buds were not accustomed to the spice anymore. Germany seems pretty big on creams, salts and vinegar, not spicy peppers. It was quite delicious from what I could actually taste.

Shortly after our meal, we hopped on our train towards the Stanstead airport. When I stopped in the bathroom, I spotted the greatest thing ever though. It was a box, that had 'litter' on it. It was a red litter box! I love different countries.

We got ourselves to the airport and both had a few pounds left so we were trying to find ways to spend them. After dawdling for maybe a little too long, we made our way through security, not knowing how large the other side of the gate was. Of course, as we were going through security, Rachel's bag was flagged. Apparently, she didn't put all of her liquids in appropriate bags, etc. etc. and they had a lot of people coming through that it took them what felt like forever because they had to send it through again.

We got on the plane last minute, again, and were able to make it back to Frankfurt Hahn airport. When we got there, it took a long time to get through the small area they had for passport checks, which I believe inevitably led us to missing the bus back to Mannheim. Of course, that meant we would have to wait two hours to make it back. The waiting game in such a small airport was soo boring. We wandered through the whole place up a floor, looked around, sat down at a table and played with our iPods, mostly. The following two hours were pretty uneventful aside from the stories and riddles.

The End.
