1.4.2012 - Sonntag, Sunday
Cindy started her Easter/ Spring break a little sooner than the rest of us, so she decided she would hang out in Mannheim until Wednesday/ Thursday and then she and Rachel would be off to explore Europe. Unfortunately, she had a few train issues and had to come the next day or pay 200€. She obviously chose the former.
In the meantime, I decided it would be best for me to go visit the church where I would be taking my mother and aunt the following weekend so I could understand how everything worked. Rachel and I went to the "Jesuit" mass, not as exciting as I was expecting. We both also forgot that it was Palm Sunday, meaning that the Passion of Christ would be read and it would make the mass last longer. Nevertheless, we made it through the mass with ease. It helped that I had heard the Passion so many times in English so I could comprehend the German version a little better.
After the mass was over, I went home, blogged, might have done some homework and relaxed some.
2.4.2012 - Montag, Monday
Cindy said she was scheduled to arrive around 11:30, naturally it was delayed, but we found her, she survived, we brought her back to Rachel's apartment, hooked her up with a bed, and then I had to go back to school.
After school, Rachel offered to cook. We set out the chicken to thaw and then Cindy and I wander over to Penny Markt to look at a few things. Students are very creative folk!
We arrived back to start up the cooking and found our some unexciting news. Unfortunately, the frozen chicken she bought was a whole chicken: neck, bones, etc. but luckily no innards. This also meant that it would take a while to prepare and cook. It probably wasn't done until 9ish, so we just ate the noodles with the sauce in the meantime. By then we had eaten enough noodles and sauce to not care for the chicken. It would have to wait for another day. We chatted for a while and then said our farewells for the time being.
