So, 8 am class means setting your alarm for 6:30 am, and getting up before the sun. After going to sleep late, I was confused when I woke up at 6 am, but fell back asleep. However, my body knows exactly how long two snoozes are, and startled myself awake at 6:20, thinking I had slept passed my alarm. It was no use trying to fall back asleep. My body was being a little over-zealous in waking up early, I think. Such an early class also meant that I had to leave at 7:10 to get there before class started. Fortunately for me, I showered the night before after pumping iron, making my morning a little easier. I ate, woke up a little more, and then left.
(The sunrise - the green space on campus. Definitely a different feel than ISU, probably helps the place is 1/7th the size too...)
I arrived to class a bit early, found a spot to sit, and settled in. As the class was about to start, my advising professor Schad was the teacher! I hadn't realized that until then, but it was good because I already knew him and didn't feel so strange in the class. Everything seemed to be working out so far. The class, Betriebsorganisation, wasn't too bad, aside from the people in front of me chatting a lot so it was hard to hear my professor.
After class, I wandered down to the computer lab, printed off some forms and caught the tram home.
I filled out most of the forms and decided that I was going to make soup with the chicken and soup greens that I had bought earlier in the week. I get to my kitchen and see the pot I might have used was dirty, and decided to skip the water part for the soup and cooked it all in an arabic spaghetti sauce with just a little bit of water to simmer. It was succulent! After adding some bread, it was hard to get enough of it. It consisted of chicken, leek*, carrot*, celeriac*, and garlic. *from the Suppengruenen.
The rest of my day wasn't too exciting. I might have sent an e-mail or two and played some games. I did at least make plans for the following day after class #2 of Betriebsorganisation to go back to Speyer! I was finally going to see the inside of the Gothic Cathedral that looked so cool! :)
